Insomnia is classified as a sleeping disorder. It is the most common sleep disorder with millions of Americans suffering each day. Insomnia is the inability to fall asleep or have a complete, quality sleep. Many people with insomnia not only have trouble falling asleep, but staying asleep is also a problem.

Many people wake in the middle of the night several times and by the morning are extremely fatigued and irritable. If you are not able to get a good night's sleep your performance is libel to suffer, whether at work or in your personal life.

Here are some tips to treat insomnia:

* Avoid alcohol in the evening

* Avoid stimulants such as caffeine in the evening

* Check any prescription medication that you are taking for sleep side effects

* If you are experiencing stress and anxiety, try to clear your mind when you go to bed

* Eat a healthy diet and exercise more frequently

* Come up with a night time routine

* Sleep in a relaxing, quiet environment

If you still are having trouble sleeping, contact your physician for the best ways to treat your sleep disorders.
